Reproductive Acupuncture has officially began!
I've had multiple friends try this in addition to IVF and although they can never say that it is actually acupuncture that helped them get pregnant, they also can't say it didn't assist in the success. I have always been a bit spectacle but the other night I was laying in bed, unable to sleep and this idea came OUT OF NO WHERE! I didn't know anyone that had done acupuncture with success until I started asking around. One of my best friends tried a buffet of fertility assistants for eight years with no success and this last year she decided this would be the final try so she added in acupuncture and it finally worked. She delivered a perfect baby boy in April. The more research I did, the more success stories I found through friends, clients and acquaintances.
I was most interested in proven research. In Chinese Medicine, acupuncture is used to decrease stress in the body by regulating the sympathetic nervous system. Treatment can also help regulate hormonal imbalances and circulatory problems. (REALLY? stop right there.... WHERE DO I SIGN?!) Recent studies show acupuncture performed immediately before and after IVF significantly increases the chance for a viable pregnancy. Acupuncture reduces the side effects of IVF drugs (OH YES) and uterine contractions which decreases miscarriage. It increases the thickness of the uterine lining, functions of the ovaries and strengthens the immune system. Most importantly it increases blood flow to the uterus which Dr. H thought could have been the challenge last time. Fertility Acupuncture is expensive but when you are already paying thousands of dollars why not add another few bills to the mix?! Ehhhhhh.
I have THE MOST INCREDIBLE specialist poking and prauding me. I was so anxious and nervous this first time not knowing what to expect. My hands and feet were clammy until she started the treatment. I wasn't able to sleep at all but I was able to relax like I haven't felt for a long time. She creates a relaxing, comfortable and peaceful environment. I had a two and a half hour appointment. I have never had someone spend so much time trying to get to know my body. It meant so much to me. After the treatment I was drained the rest of the day. BUT HALLE-FREAKIN-LUJAH~ The next day I woke up A NEW WOMAN. I had energy that I haven't felt since before our IVF cycle. I am hoping to find balance with my hormone levels after my crazy fresh cycle. If that is all I get... IT IS WORTH EV PENNY! IVF has given me a new found respect and love for all those who are going through menopause. IVF symptoms are the same. May the Lord have mercy on all those with hormonal imbalances For we do not always know what we do.
Praise the Lord above that all the side effects don't last forever!!!
TODAY... it may sound ridiculous and simple but I AM GRATEFUL FOR ACUPUNCTURE.
Does this mean I am back to being hopeful and not a bitter, old shrew?!
